   Calicut also known as kozhikode, is a city in the  state of Kerala. Calicut (Kozhikode ) is the headquarters of the Calicut district.Calicut (Kozhikode ) has a population of 436,556 .Calicut (Kozhikode) is the third largest city in Kerala. Calicut (Kozhikode) is known as the ‘ City Of Spices’.

           Kozhikode, formerly called Calicut was the traditional capital of Northern Kerala according to  the Saamuthiri rule.
