Face 2 Face- Went to watch this movie with zero expectations since both the hero's and the director's previous films were flops. Even the theme of this movie failed to create any expectation or anxiety in viewers' mind. So, as expected, F2F is one of the worst movie released this year! The subject was said many times earlier. This was supposed to be a thriller but VM Vinu failed miserably in the making and it ended up as usual boring drama. 1st half was average and 2nd half was too bad. Songs are bad and are placed at the wrong places. Choreography of a club dance was done well. Overall, there isn't anything in this movie worth watching.
My Rating- 2.5/10

Well, such unintentionally funny acts happen one after the other in director V.M.Vinu’s 'Face to Face’.Irritatingly boisterous, poorly written and pathetically executed, this film is a complete disaster from the word go.
'Face to Face’ tell
s the story of the celebrations of urban life, the value deterioration in family life, and the life of people who are not blessed with the love and presence of their near and dear ones.Balachandran leads a luxurious life in a bungalow in the suburbs of the city. He does an array of businesses - real estate, share marketing and many more. Mammootty dones the role of Balachandran, an investigative officer who wants to disclose the mystery behind the silent murder happening in the city.

Every clichés that is usually associated with the commercial masala entertainers can be found here aplenty. But the problem is that they haven’t been used intelligently and no one associated with the film seems to have any idea about the way the story was proceeding, while making it. The production values are tacky and less about most technical aspects, the better.

In a role where his heroism is celebrated in virtually every frame, Mammootty looks handsome and has done the role in a devoted way. But all the efforts are not enough to salvage a poorly written film. Roma and Ragini, the female leads as per the posters, have nothing much to do.Kalabhavan Mani,Siddhique, does manage to tickle the funny bone at times. The rest of cast, which includes,Vijaya Raghavan,Nishanth Sagar doesn’t impress either. That Music guy also looking good.

'Face to Face’, with a title which is not much relevant to the story, is just under two hours long. There is a behind-the-scenes footage that is shown in rather elaborate detail before the end credits start rolling.
If those involved in the making of this silly misadventure had cared to devote even half of those efforts while making the actual film, things would have been different. Why waste time on this one?

Idiots Malayalam Film Review | Idiots Malayalam Movie Review

Idiots Malayalam Movie Review - Not Up TO The Mark

Shine Kerala Review Rating -2/5

Here is the review of the new film Idiots which was released on November 23 2012. The film is getting mixed reviews with most of the viewers claiming the film to be avoidable.

Here are the reviews from Facebook.
House full

'Idiots' may attract the audience as a mindless entertainer, to a certain extent, mainly at the urban centres. But its shoddy making relegates its value and what we see on screen reminds us of the numerous mimicry shows that are being aired by the various TV channels. There are some hilarious moments and remember, you will have to leave your brains back home to enjoy this comedy caper, though it could have been much better with some more intelligent comedy.

The storyline is about a girl(Sanusha) who wants to die,but the condition is it should be in a pain less way, because of her love failure and it's her revenge against him.She gave a quatation to 'Beeran'(Vijaya Raghavan),a famous gunda in Kochi,But beeran is a fear bird.Beeran hand over this deal to Freddi(Baburaj), is a owner of a coolbar.Freddi's personal documents are in Beeran's hand. And freddi forced to do this deal. One day a guy(Asif Ali) came to girls home for robbery. But She thoughts...???

If you think too much about the storyline, the fun will be lost at the same moment itself. The film is all about some fine one liners, banters and quips which may at times look amateurish as well.

A weak script coupled with lackluster comedy mars the essence of the film.It gets all the more annoying when the film tries to pick the tempo, but fails miserably primarily on account of a weak script. The script perks us up initially but the excitement wanes after a while.

Despite some of the best actors in the film,'Idiots' fails to live up to the expectations. Baburaj has nothing much to do other than his usual buffoonery but even that doesn’t last long enough.Sanusha adds more drama to the already dramatic situations.Asif Ali is fine form but he do not have anything solid to work with.

Overall, none of the songs are catchy. Few instances of fresh humour take place. The countryside feel is there but remains under-capitalised. No wonder experimentation is avoided like cancer.I'm giving 1.5/5 for this Idiotic show. Now, to laugh or not, is all up to you.

916 Malayalam Film Review Rating :Disappointing Reports

916 Malayalam Movie

Here is the Malayalam movie review of the Malayalam film 916 directed by M.Mohanan with Anoop Menon and Asif Ali in the lead. The review ratings and reports are giving the film average reports with special mention that M.Mohanan has been disappointing in his latest Malayalam movie venture.

Here are some of the reports of the film from facebook.

‎'916' begins on a note of confusion. As the film progresses, the sense of confusion increases leaving the viewer disoriented. At the end of two hours, director M.Mohanan's new film into the same genre of films such as Innathe Chinthavishayam,Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal, which are purportedly about kids but it's the same melodramatic mush being dished out in a new wrapper. But the story has no freshness to it and the emotional scenes, save a few, lack soul.

A family of two members - Dr. Harikrishnan (Anoop Menon) and his daughter Meera(Malavika). Dr. Harikrishnan is an altruist who considers his profession as a means to serve the society. Meera is a Plus two student, they are living a happy life.Once Prasanth (Asif Ali) enters their lives as a youngster who falls in love with Meera . The rest of the events form the crux of the story. This is what the film is essentially all about, and how far does it succeed in driving home the point?

As we break fo
r intermission, we sincerely feel that another love story is in the cards,But things start going boring mainly in the second half. The twist after Interval which is thoroughly unconvincing.916 has been presented honestly for sure, but suffers due to the lack of a credible storyline and also with its highly conventional narrative style.

While the actors, one cannot help fault the lazy characterisation. Most of the actors in the film are veterans, be it Mukesh, Nandu,Balachandran Chullikaadu ,Devan,KPAC Lalita(only seen her the very first scene, where she goes to rest of the film?). And no wonder that this is a cakewalk for all of them, as the characters never ever throw any fresh challenges on them. Debutant Malavika is fine at times.Monica has limited scenes to play and she done it convincingly. If the director had given any thought to Anoop Menon's character, it's not reflected on screen. He tries his best but it's unfair to call him a bad actor when he hasn't been given any material to work with. Asif Ali appears only in limited scenes.Thank God!

One would have thought the director and scriptwriter (M.Mohanan) had enough material to build a tight script. But no they have liberally lifted sequences from other popular kiddie flicks of the last decade. Many scenes defy logic and bring in several doubts in the minds of the hapless viewers.M.Jayachandran’s Music is fine and Faisal Ali’s visuals are just about OK.

916 is a major let down, in terms of the story, the script as well as the execution. Given the kind of predictable fare that it is, it is likely to have a terrible time at the box office.I'm giving 1.5/5 for '916'.If you’ve been pining for an old-fashioned tear-jerker, this one's for you.

Puthiya Theerangal Movie Review | Puthiya Theerangal Film Review

Puthiya Theerangal Movie Review

Here is the film review and reports of the new Malayalam film Puthiya Theerangal directed by Sathyan Anthikad and starring Nivin Pauly and Namith Pramod from the facebook page housefull.

Director Sathyan Anthikkad treads through his usual path of family saga with a mix of melodrama, clichéd lines and all the ingredients in the formula, yet again. That's the first thing which comes to your mind as you watch his latest film, ‘Puthiya Theerangal’.Yes, there is an okay storyline here and the film has its moments for sure, but the problem is the old-fashioned way it has been packaged.
The film is happening by the seaside. The story is focused on the life of a young girl named Thamara, who lives on her own at the shore, after the death of her parents. Sometime later she finds an old man and she feels like having got her father back.

The set-up is neat, the lead characters mildly engaging, the jokes and old songs. The build-up is slow, but you wait patently, hoping that it will lead to something extraordinary, a climax worthy of all the effort. But It doesn't.

Namitha, who has acted in Traffic as Rahman’s daughter, is a welcome find. Shorn
of make-up, she's natural, appealing, and very expressive. It is an all-new Nivin Pauly that you will see in this movie. No introduction or over-the-top romance and he play an actor with conviction.Nedumudi Venu is top-notch. He emerges as the emotional soul of this film with a graceful, restrained performance.
There are some touching situations in the film but then, the storyline itself moves ahead in a rather predictable way.The first half of the film is a rollicking and funny, while the second half drags as Sathyan repeats the gags he has already shown in the first half. The supporting characters look perhaps like those stereotyped ones in any story of this nature.Venu's camera is fine and Ilaiyaraja's tunes are quite good.

Puthiya Theerangal Movie Review Rating - 2/5.

Husbands in Goa Film Review - Comic Masala Again

Husbands in Goa Movie Review -Average Reports

Shine Kerala review rating - 2.5/5

Here is the review of the new film Husbands in Goa which got released on September 21 2012 all over kerala. The film is getting average reports from the box office as the film promises nothing fresh. But the film is expected to get the support of the family audiences and get ahead of the other Jayasuriya film Trivandrum Lodge released on the same day.

Here are some of the reviews of the film Husbands In Goa from Facebook.

Anand Ajayghosh

Husbands in Goa Review

Saji Surendran and script writer Krishna Poojappura joins again to make another 'Happy Husbands' like film and fails miserably! All the lead actors were overacting to the core. Most of the 'comedies' were outdated ones and didn't work out. Songs are boring. Poor screenplay and bad direction. The usual mega serial lovers may like these kinda crap 'entertainers' but in this time of new-gen movies I don't think this outdated film will have any takers.

My Rating- 4/10, Avoidable.

Husbands In Goa: My Summary Review

  • Theater: Matha Aluva
  • Status: 35%
  • Show: FDFS
Totally film is a good entertainer with some super comedy combo with the gang. Great Come back performance by Lal. Lal has shown some excellent performance in this movie. Remya, Rima and others were just superb.

First Half was simply superb and extraordinary when the cut piece versions of No. 20 Madras Mail song got in. Got a loud round of applause from the crowd when the Big M's Appeared on screen. Tony kuttan song by Innocent got more responds.

Second half was also superb with all the comedies and some bit dialogues from Lal. Asif, Indrajith, Jayasurya and lal combo was simply magical.

But you may get disappointed with the climax. Its totally predictable and simple. Apart from climax its a mass entertainer.

Positives

+ Superb Comedies
+ ASIF LAL INDRAJITH JAYASURYA COMBO
+ Big M's Entry
+ Songs
+ 1 st Half
+ 2 nd half

Negatives:

- Climax
- Some lag in between

My Rating: 3/5
Verdict: Must Watch

Two movies back to back..:)!Husbands In Goa - A movie you will enjoy with your families anyday. there is Lal who has done a fabulous job.. there is Jayasurya with absolute timing. the story is as simple as the title means. loved the way they used 'pichakappoonkaavukalkkumappuram' and a glimpse of lalettan n mammookka brings you immense joy.:) themovie has a predictable climax though u can sit back n watch the fun.. Happy for Saji Surendran and friends.:)

Trivandrum Lodge- Fell in love with Anoop Menon's pen once again. Always been Vk Prakash admirer because he brings out more from the script. Director has played carefully n brilliantly with each track. you will get amused by the way they have brought love ,lust and innocence..together.Everyone has given their best.. especially Mr. P Balachandran Nair..Saiju Kurup..Honey Rose..Tesni Khan..the little wonders Dhananjay Premjith and Nayanthara. And surprisingly i cud hear lalettans name(jayakrishnan) again.. coming out of Babu Namboothiri who reprised himself from Thoovanathumbikal:) Brilliant editing by Mahesh Narayan and cinematography by Pradeep Nair. but this day goes to Jayasurya who just made me wonderstruck with two movies which stands in two different poles.. he was just fantastic inboth flicks.. his friends(Saji Surendran and Anoop Menon) changed him from a good actor to more reliable and bankable actor. And Mr. Lal who has the same story with Ozhimuri and HIG. super friday for me.
