Kerala State Chalachithra Academy was given the responsibility by the kerala government to grade the theaters in the state into 5 grades.hence the committees evaluated all the 399 A class and B class theaters in kerala on the basis of certain criteria.

PADMA THEATRE IN KOCHI

The main criteria that was looked into while evaluation was:

1. A/C-NON A/C theater
2. Sound quality in the theater
3. Projection intensity in the screen
4. Parking facilities for the audience
5. Maintenance done by the management
6. Distance from the town
7. Cleanliness of the theater
8. Quality of the seats
9. Whether it is a Releasing centre
10. General opinion of the audience
    Based on these criteria almost 15 theatres in kerala have been graded into the Platinum grade or grade 1.

Grade 1 Theatres:

1. Thiruvananthapuram- Sree padmanabha 
   theatre
2. Kannur- Kavitha theatre
3. Ernankulam – Padma theatre
4. Kottayam- Anand theatre
5. Kochi – EVM theatre

Gate Exam Important Dates and Facts

1. Pre final year students are not eligible to apply for the Gate exam 2012.
2. Online application submission was started on 12 September 2011.
3. The last date for the submission of online application was 17 October 2011.But the dates have been extended due to the repeated complaints regarding the bandwidth of the gate application submission website. Hence the new date is 21 October 2011
4. The printed copy of the online application form should reach the respective gate offices with respect to the various zones before 28 October 2011
5. On 9 December 2011, the Gate website will publish the list of registered candidates eligible to write the gate exam 2012. Along with that, the city of writing the exam and their choice of test papers will be published on the website.
6. The admit cards for the Gate exam can be downloaded from the respective zonal websites on 2 January 2012
7. Gate 2012 exam will held on 29 January 2012 and12 February 2012
8. The results of the Gate 2012 exam will be published on 15 march 2012
9. The Gate exam will be a 3 hour objective type exam .There will be 65 questions in the exam.This 65 questions will carry a total weight-age of 100 marks. The answers are to be marked in the optical response answer sheets by marking against the correct bubble. There will be negative marking.

Every one in kerala was busy celebrating new year But not the people of Trivandrum.The sudden change in the weather has destroyed any hopes of Trivandrum to welcome the new year with thunder.

The Thane cyclone that had devastated the Tamilnadu coast had made the new year a tough event for Trivandrum natives. Water was the villain everywhere with enormous amount of water pouring into the city from everywhere.The effects of this incident was felt in almost all parts of kerala with unusual weather pattern.The Thambaanoor railway station was surrounded by water making any form of transport an impossible option.

The reports from the meteorological stations still claim of the possibility of occasional rainfall in almost all areas of kerala for the next 48 hours.

As per reports almost 50 houses have been damaged along the coast and 5 persons have died.kerala government has stepped into its relief tone where the victims have been promised a sum of one lakh ex-Gratia payments.

The infamous Thane cyclone is reported to have wind speeds above 130 km per hour. This same cyclone had caused innumerable losses on the Tamilnadu coast mainly in the areas of Cudalore and Pondicherry. The total death toll has been said to be in the range of above 40 persons with many injured and thousands rendered homeless.

Vinayan to Direct Anushka in Dracula 2012-3D Version.

Veteran Malayalam director Vinayan is now going to shoot the Indian version of the great classic novel Dracula which was originally written by Bram Stoker.If the sources can be believed  Mr.Vinayan has already been to Romania were most of the film will be shot.The film will be released in 3D.

ANUSHKA IN 3D FILM

Another interesting factor that is making waves in the film industry is the fact that south Indian actress Anushka has okayed the film.The movie has been named as Dracula 2012 and it is said that the Anushka has given dates to Vinayan in February 2012.Anushka had earlier won much appreciation from the critics for her apt portrayal of the character Arundhathi.Many believe that the character in this film will have shades of Arundhathi.

Anushka is reported to play the role of a medical student who is also the daughter of the sorcerer.The story would be modified accordingly to suit the Indian needs.
Vinayan has not been successful in Malayalam lately due to the lack of support he enjoys in kerala among the technicians due to his rebel stand to the superstars of Malayalam film industry. Incidentally the Malayalam version of the film is not planned. The film will be released only in Tamil,Telegu and English.May be this is one way for Mr. Vinayan to take the revenge upon the Malayalam film industry.
