Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty Malayalam movie Review

Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty Malayalam film Review-

Nithya Shines But Movie Does Not

Shine Kerala review rating = 6/10

The movie of T.K. Rajeev Kumar the director of Rathinirveham - that was the highlight all over the internet communities about the film Thalsmayam Oru Penkutty. The film also had the hype developed due to the presence of Swetha Menon playing  a major role in the film. The film also had the new Malayalam young sensation  Unni Mukundan who in fact was Becoming a trendy name in Malayalam. Add to this the name Nithya Menon which is common in every Malayalee house hold and channels.

Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty was well marketed before the release. But the hype would not last as the film does not provide  a treat for the auddience.

Positives

Nithya Meonon does a good job in her role. There is no stopping her. She is the central character in the film and does her job perfectly well. She needs to be appreciated for her work in this film and we sincerely hope she gets more meaty roles than she gets now.Let us be happy that her ban in Malayalam films are over as she can do much more good roles in future. Hats off to you Nithya.

Another positive point of the film is the theme of the film which has not been experimented much in malayalam. The movie brings to the fore the craze for every malayalee guy over the reality shows  in a deeper way. Though not much successful in the attempt, the film tries to bring to the fore the role played by various SMS groups in manipulating people. The theme is definitely of some relevance now.Hats off to you Rajeev Kumar for selecting the theme.

Negatives

The film is disappointing in total. The script looks like it needed another month's work on it. Plus the dubbing issues are prominent. The film could have been better prepared overall.

Unni Mukundan ruins his image with this one film. He needs to do better homework in his approach to the films.Sincerely hoping that Unni Mukundan can do much better in his role in the film Mallu Singh. He has the looks to be the perfect hero. He needs to work on his acting skills though.

The film was better in the first half compared to the second half where the film went completely awry. A much better preparation from T.K.Rajeev kumar was expected.
