In the car rental offers options like airport pick up, airport parking or ferry connections might be included. The car rental insurance varies from country to country so it is wise to check what is included. Car rental insurance might not cover things like fire, theft and damage to the vehicle. Be sure that these areas are covered and check for limitations and exclusions.

If you are not satisfied with the insurance you can always get excess insurance. By doing this you will broaden the coverage of the car rental insurance and you can reduce the excess fees by asking for top up insurance when you are renting the car.

Many basic car rental insurances would not cover damage of some vehicle parts, like glass, windows, roof, tyres and wheels. The excess insurance policy will include these parts in their basic coverage policy. This allows to the person who rents the car to claim the money back for these parts of the vehicle. Excess insurance has its own conditions and limitations as well. This type of car rental insurance might be available only for long distance travels. It is most probable that good vehicles, sport cars of antique cars will be excluded from this insurance policy because of the fact that they are very expensive. Anyways before renting any car it is good to check the policy details to ensure that they will meet your needs and you and your travelling company can enjoy a safer journey.
