The Key to Perseverance

The act of persistent determination; continuing or repeating behavior is perseverance. It is the ability to maintain a steady course of action in spite of obstacles, pains or discouragements. Perseverance can be found with a farmer who ploughs his field, seed it, cares for the tiny young plant, and fights against the weeds and insects until his crop is ready to harvest. It can be found among a warrior who goes through the severities of trainings and employ himself in the battle until the battle is won.
Perseverance is a day-by-day decision not to give up, but remember when you find yourself actually wanting to quit then do not push yourself otherwise. It might be the wisest option then. If the effort required is much, but worthwhile, work with perseverance. It’s a hard task to persevere till you get your results out but there are some points that one needs to keep in mind.
The first thing one need to do is to recognize the impermanent nature of the things that oppose us. Things like discouragement from others, self-created obstacles or fears. You need to be aware of these things and don’t let them stop you or get you down. If you note yourself looking for excuses, or laziness causes you to procrastinate, then don’t give in.
The second thing is the appreciation for the reward, in simple words; you can say it’s the benefit that you get after putting in so much effort. If the outcome after putting so much effort is not worthwhile, then it might be better to quit and it’s natural not feeling like putting effort and time in such a thing. Moving somewhere looking for a bright future might cost you all your savings but give nothing, but if you have a brighter future then it is worth risking.
The third key to perseverance is motivation. When you are sure you have taken this decision for right reason and you are in all your plans to follow this road, you need motivation to get going. You might need to re-motivate yourself all through the journey. It is the glorious nature of outcome that might always motivate you, like a warrior will fight till then end because he wants to win the battle. You might require some friends who motivate when you are derailing because of all the discouraging factors.
A human is able to tolerate a great amount of pain because he knows the pain will come to an end, one day, and the sun is going to shine. He will be glorious one day and he will win all the goals he has set for himself, like a warrior knows that war will end and give way to the peace.
Keywords: perseverance, determination, decision, obstacles, motivation, pain.
