Are You Keeping Away from ‘Certain’ Feelings?

Emotions are like a conspicuous energy engrafted in our body. We need to pay closer attention to our emotions, those feelings, to the energy that is manifested in our body. We need to see where it causes lightness in our body and where there is tension and tightness. Some feelings can cause you to fly high, while, some cause you to lose power and feel less confident. In order to stop ourselves from losing power, many people try to avoid those feelings.
A number of people think that they are having a bad day, although, it may not actually be a bad day but they might be feeling the feelings they don’t like. Many people believe that they are defined by what they feel and may be the feeling will stay forever with them. Generally, people are always taught to keep away from sad feelings, angry feelings as they’re the ‘wrong’ kind of feelings and in result people try to avoid these feelings.
Everyone, in their life, tries to avoid a certain kind of feeling which may be particular for them. Those are the feeling of vulnerability. The more people try to avoid the more these feelings show up. This will make you feel even vulnerable and weak. People see these feelings as a burden.
A number of people have had negative experiences from the past; hence, they wish to avoid their feelings. In order to avoid these feelings people look for other things that keep their mind busy. Many people try to cope through getting addiction which will prevent them from these feeling or keep their minds off these feelings. Work-a-holism is one of the most common addictions and is highly socially accepted one. Workaholics even get praised, are financially successful and hold prestigious position, but they lack the healthy ambition and emotional health.
Human has a natural process of alternating between the two kinds of emotions. A healthy oscillation between these feelings is what every human experiences through his life. The problem occurs when a human gets stuck with one kind of feeling. They lose the ability to move on from their state and mostly this state is negative. This observation also scares a lot of people from feeling negative emotions.
The healthy way is to accept how you feel, even if it is a negative feeling. Embrace your feelings and stop seeing them as burden. Embracing your feeling give a genuine sense of confidence and power; it makes you feel at ease. Don’t be afraid of feelings, they will come and go. Experience each feeling in a healthy manner because that’s a part of being human. A remarkable thing is when you distinguish yourself from your feelings; that you are not defined by what you feel.
