Many designers have showcased their trendy, rich in colour summer collections as summer is approaching. Designers have experimented with different fabrics, cuts, styles and accessories. The all chic summer collection has been showcased on the ramp and ready to go into the stores.
Bright colours never go out of a summer trend, no matter what year. In summer 2011 trend, bright and hyper colours are in. Colours like teal, bright blue, shocking pink, yellow and orange are the colours of summer. Designers have also presented colours as varied as grey, browns, fawn and off-white. The colour white is always in vogue. White gives off a sense of coolness, hence, this year white dresses are again in collections of top designers. An ankle length classic dress, with a small white tail and wide round neck was walked on ramp.
Lace has been around even before the Victorian era and is always looked forward to in a summer trend. Lace is a classic for a formal evening party and can also come out funky for teenagers. A fawn shirt, with frill down its front, stitched lace jacket and lace sleeves has been displayed in Anna Sui’s collection for this year. A shirt like this can be paired up with a skirt or a pair of pants. Ralph Lauren also displayed an old west style calf length dress in lace.
As plain is preferred in winters, with the arrival of summers, prints are back in vogue. Abstract, floral and classic prints like leopard and paisley are showcased in summer collection. A mid-calf length, and fitted bodice dress, tailored from a cloth having an abstract blue and black print, showcased by Rag & Bone. This is a chic choice for daytime party during summers.
As far as lengths are concerned, other than thigh length and ankle length, mid length outfits are also included in this year’s trend. A mid-calf length dress with skin fitted top and crunchy chiffon bottom has been showcased by Chloé. A classic calf length dress with full length sleeves, round neck with ties down to abdomen, was showcased by The Row.
Other than formal dresses, maxi, skirts of different lengths, pants and jumpsuits are included in collection. Sea blue cotton jumpsuit with elastic neck and elastic fitting elbow length sleeves, accessorized with a royal and bright blue waist belt, is a perfect outfit for summer. Classic pants are also in fashion. A wide leg and folded bottom classic pant was paired with an off-white front open collar shirt. High waist pants are also included in collection by various designers.
The fabrics highlighted for summers are cotton, chiffon, georgette, silk and other mix fabrics. Floating, voluminous, wide leg designs are seen in abundance. Thin waist belts are in vogue. Dresses were mostly accessorized by waist belts but a shirt pant pair up was also accessorized with a scarf around the neck.
