Swarovski – the accessible luxury

In the late twentieth century the women start to speak about new piece of jewelry – stones Swarovski. They can be encrusted on everything you want – phones, dresses, boxes, glasses, accessories and everything you can think for. Al story started in 1862 in a small village in Bohemia, the European centre for the manufacture of glass then, when was born Daniel Swarovski. He didn’t want to become like his father and brothers who worked in a factory for glass and leaving the family went to Paris. There he studied physics, chemistry and various technical disciplines and eventually seated and invented the first electric mill for grinding stones. In 1895 Daniel opened with his partners own factory in the small village Wattens in Tyrol. They start to grind glass. In 1900 the factory was expanded and was hired more 200 people. Then the company was named Swarovski. During the First World War, the jewelry production in Europe was declined and the company started to produce tools and abrasives for grinding machines (sharpening) and grinding. This saved the company from destruction. Such a production company and now produces under the brand Tyrolit. After the end of the war, Swarovski and his sons started again glass grinding and developed a new process for making crystal glass. It became clear that the industrial grinding procedure is cheaper and with better quality. In 1920 Daniel Swarovski started to process crystal glass with a high content of oxide. The result was brilliant, elegant and looks like real diamonds glass pebbles, which made people like Dior, Coco Channel and Valentino to become mad. The new stones were magnificent like real diamonds but much cheaper and accessible. The top designers started to use them in their fashion collections. Year later, Daniel’s grandson – Manfred, found a way to stained the pebbles and this provided the leadership of the family company in the jewelry industry. Adding and manufacturing of small glass figures, whose sketches are destroyed after their production, it is clear why everybody want to have something with stones Swarovski. Some ladies really overdo with the Swarovski passion – Paris Hilton’s dog has a strap with Swarovski, almost every famous person has a phone with stones Swarovski, the stones are undivided part from the fashion collections, of course we don’t have to forget for the underwear with Swarovski.
