Angry Birds was widely popular in the facebook game world. Now it is time for the new game Angry Brides to rock. The all new application has been launched by Shaadi.com - one of the most popular matrimony sites in India in their page.
This game though does the job of promoting the matrimony site has got a humanitarian area of relevance too. The idea is to empower women to fight against dowry practice which is still relevant in India.
Dowry
As per the statistics of 2007. one dowry related deaths occur every 4 hours in India. Hence the need to fight this menace is important and shaadi .com needs to be appreciated for implementing this effort.
What is Dowry?
Dowry is something that the bridegroom gets or asks from the family of bride in return for marrying the girl.Many families consider this as a matter of respect to give large dowries to the grooms during the marriage. They set high standards and the poor tries to follow it resulting in widespread disaster.
Normally marriage is considered as a business opportunity for the bride grooms in India. They get dowry in the form of jewelery , cars ,money , land , house etc. which makes them get rich quick.
Even though this factor of dowry was passed as illegal by government laws many years back, there are many families who still follow it in India. Many families asks for the dowry from the brides family and many even threatens to stop the marriage if the required conditions are not met.
If the girls family fails to give the dowry ,the girl would be treated as a an outcast in the grooms house and will be mentally and physically tortured.

Game Rules
The player to needs to hit each of the 3 dodging grooms( pilot ,builder doctor) with the weapons available. Each groom has a price tag of around 1.5 million rupees. with each hit the grooms get , their overall value decreases and you earn it which gets deposited in the Anti Dowry Fund.
The weapons available to attack the grooms are stiletto shoe, a frying pan, broomstick, chappal, tomato and loafer.
The game has become a hot sensation in the Internet mainly Twitter with many tweets and re tweets spreading the popularity of this game.Since it involves a social cause all the tweeters have been all too friendly in re tweeting and spreading the Cause.
