Celebrity Cricket League Match 1 (Mumbai Heroes vs Telugu Warriors) Result
The first match of the second edition of Celebrity Cricket League was held in Sharjah on13th January 2012 between Mumbai Heroes and Telugu Warriors. Mumbai Heroes was lead by Sunil Shetty and Telugu Warriors was led by Venkatesh.
It was interesting to see the match ending in tie.
After a grand opening ceremony which showcased established singers like Atif Aslam and Devi Sri Prasad and a parade by the team members and brand ambassadores the match was started
Toss
Mumbai Heroes won the toss and decided to field first. They had decide that the bowling will be their strong point.
Mumbai Bowling
It was fantastic to see Mumbai bowlers in swinging the bowl to the batsman . At this level of cricket that was a wonderful piece of bowling.Sunny Singh of Mumbai Heroes was the person who was swinging the ball like a professional cricketer.He took 2 wickets in his 4 overs. Badola also was the highest wicket taker with his share of 2 wickets from 4 overs.Telugu Warriors was restricted to the score of 167 in 20 overs.
Telugu Warriors batting
Akhil top scored in the match when he scored 60 runs. other Telugu batsman found it hard to find some runs . only support he got was from the lower order Charan who contributed a useful 48 runs.
Mumbai batting
With the aim of chasing down 168 runs Mumbai started their batting with opening pair of Badola and Bedi. Badola top scored the match with 60 runs and was involved in a very useful partnership with no.3 batsman Raja Bherwani [44 ] which took the Mumbai Heroes score closer to the total of 168. In the end again it was a case of needing too much runs and having lesser balls and Mumbai just managed to tie the score at 167.
Points Shared
So both the teams shared 1 point each. Both the teams have 4 more matches before the semifinalists are decided.
