A 30 year old Indian Grandmaster from Chennai who ranks at no.6 in Asian circuit.This man had won his Grandmaster norm way back in 2000 when he was just 19 years. Thought out as the man who would replace Anand soon, it is yet unclear if he can really step into the big man's shoes....
With some doubts and perceptions he is at number 2 in India.

Pendayala Harikrishna who hails from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh comes at number 3 in the list. He became the youngest Indian Grandmaster when he achieved his GM norm in 2001 at the age of 15. Right now he stands at no.9 in the Asian circuit and has the added advantage of age on his side,.
Harikrishna with some hope and dreams comes up at number 3.
- Abhijeet Gupta
22 year old Young man who hails from Bilwara in Rajasthan has risen to powers in chess circuit very rapidly.He won his Grandmaster norm in 2008 and has been performing good since then. With a top rating that says 2600 , Abhijet Gupta is the future of Indian Chess and comes up at number 4.
- Parimarjan Negi
The youngest Grandmaster in the history of Indian Chess who replaced the name of Pendayala Harikrishna with his name. He is infact the second youngest Grandmaster in the world when he acquired his GM norm at the age of 13 years.He was born in 1993 and is still the teenage sports sensation of India.
A long time and a secured dream , Parimarjan Negi will be hard to miss. He comes up at number 5 in the list compiled by Shine Kerala .
