Yuvraj not to play IPL 5
The iconic batsman and the star hitter of Pune Warriors is unlikely to play this years IPL as he is still recuperating from the non malicious tumor in the lungs he was diagnosed with.Recently Yuvraj had been to UK and USA for treatment and reports say that he would not be in action for almost 6 months.
So in the absence of Yuvraj not playing the IPL the spot for the captaincy to Pune Warriors is on the board. Who is the top contender?

It is highly likely that the veteran batsman Ganguly might captain the Pune Warriors squad.Recently Ganguly had been too critical of the Indian team in his job as a commentator. He had taken throws at Dravid ,Sehwag and even Sachin.

DRAVID TO CAPTAIN RAJASTHAN ROYALS
Recently Rajasthan Royals had announced that Rahul Dravid would captain Rajasthan in the absence of Shane Warne. Rahul had been selected ahead of the top favorite Shane Watson , Newzealand captain Ross Taylor and South African all rounder Johan Botha.
So this news came as an incentive for Ganguly to stake his claim to captain the Pune side.
WHY GANGULY ?
Coming back to the Pune Warriors , apart from Ganguly the team features players like Angelo Mathews and Graeme Smith who could be handed over the responsibility of captaining the side.
But when you look at the possibility of foreign players that may play in the Pune side there are a lot of options -Graeme Smith, Angelo Mathews, Nathan McCullum, Wayne Parnell, Jesse Ryder, Jerome Taylor,Callum Ferguson, Mitchell Marsh, Tim Payne.
It is almost definite that either Jerome Taylor or Wayne Parnell would play in the eleven.Other 3 places will be up for grabs and it is not certain if Angelo Mathews or Greame Smith will have a sure place in the playing eleven.
So it is logical to have an Indian payer as captain and it is almost certain that Robin Uthappa or Aashish Nehra will not be given the responsibility of captaining the side.
So Pune handing over the captaincy to the veteran Ganguly would be a hungama for the Ganguly fans. Considering the fact that Ganguly found it difficult to find himself a team last year, this one would be a real bonus for him
