Everyone has his own way to dealing with the tragedy that befalls him. The never ending events happening in the world somehow don’t seem real. It’s easier to get into negative thinking when economic and other conditions in life are tough. Such conditions throw people into the vicious circle of worries and expecting more problems coming their way. Feel positive is a good thing and easier to do when everything goes well but it’s in the difficult times when you need to maintain this positive thinking the most.
There’s no problem without solution or there’s no night which doesn’t give in to the sunshine. Whatever the situation is there is always a way out. If you cannot see it, you might need to change the way you think, or the way you approach life. Difficult times might require a very simple, yet wise, approach to deal with.
First, accept the things you cannot change. Certainly, there are a lot of things that you have no control over, like economic condition, terrorism, death of a closed one etc. These things are beyond our control. Don't blame yourself. Make a choice that you’re not going to be responsive to things that seek to control your emotions and life, hence, fill your life with all the negativity. When a person constantly ponders about a negative situation this is going to entrap him and the intensity of sorrow will keep increasing until you’re consumed by it. Forget your past, as you cannot change it. Don’t grieve over the lost opportunities. You should think constructively for now and future.
Secondly, build the courage to change things that you can. You can change your reaction to these things. Don’t fret over them. Don’t worry over them. Change certainly requires courage but people are not always sure about what should they do. Identify what you can do in such situation other than keeping your calm. Identify the situations where you can make a difference. This change can be emotional, intellectual or physical. Human inertia always exerts a resistance to moving out of its state. If a person is in depressed, he will tend to remain depressed. You can make a change here. Force someone move out of the depression of his difficult times. You can spread ease and smiles among people. You daily notice a lot of things that you can change but you stay away because, if others don’t then why do I? This time change your approach, if others don’t then why not I. Yes, it takes courage to put yourself out for others.
Finally, Pray. Never underestimate the power of a prayer. Prayer can do wonders and change things that you might not have imagined to change. When you refuse to indulge in self-pity and negative thoughts, keep a positive attitude and expect the good, you lead to a better and happier life.
