Most of us would wish to have some to say us moral lifting or nice things rather than telling us how poor we did are or how poor we are. Often we find ourselves telling those positive things that we would like others to say to us. They are called affirmation, positive affirmations.
Affirmations are great and extremely powerful tools that have the capacity to reprogram our mind. They can help us build our confidence and to change the unwanted negative beliefs. Affirmations develop a positive and optimistic attitude which helps us attract the things that we want in our life. They help us manage stress.
Affirmations can be used as tool to transform what a person thinks about himself, hence, it can build a person’s self-esteem or it can destroy it depending on the kind of affirmations he’s giving himself. If positive affirmations are used consistently they will transform negative believes of a person into positive ones. They will alter the construction of basic structure of his thoughts and inner voice.
Positive affirmations should be used in a consistent manner. A negative self-image and thoughts is a product of experiences that might be spread over a span of many years. It will take time to demolish this negative self-image and establish a positive one, hence, requires a consistent effort. Behavior of such a person is always directed to validate his negative believes about him.
An individual needs to fully embrace his sense of complete responsibility in this regard. He must know that it’s only him who has the power of development of his self-image and for its transformation. A positive affirmation can do immediately make a person feel better. They can make him believe because they will make him feel powerful.
For some people positive affirmations don’t seem to work. One needs to check if his affirmations are losing the realistic grounds. Those affirmations might be far from reality, at least for now. Some people don’t put as much effort in other practical steps and try to just rely on affirmations which are certainly never going to work.
Always listen to your inside rebuttal voice that rises when you are giving yourself a positive affirmation. You must see that voice as a friend in order to make your affirmations work positively and quickly. Don’t be afraid of this voice. This voice keeps you in reality, away from fantasizing. You can take help of this voice for positive change but let it hold over you; don’t submit to it.
Learn to say positive things to yourself, with practice the negative thought patterns will break down and we will start believing in these affirmations.
