We often become lost on the road of life, unable to achieve our objectives and goals that we have set for our self. It’s only possible once we had complete and correct directions to reach our destination. We need a correct map. Do you have a road map for where you are going? Let us call this road map be your life purpose and it contains your vision for life. There’s no guarantee to reach where you wish to unless you have a plan and you follow it to a nicety.
The journey of life can be compared to a road journey in many ways. While on road, one often sees people who are in a rush. Have you ever thought about them if they have the same approach in other aspects of their life? Are they always rushing from one thing to other? Do they have a vision about where they are headed to? What will happen if they finish their journey and reach destination?
Most of the people primarily focus on the urgency to get to the destination. These people lack the focus on the things that are the part of journey. The things that are needed to ensure the arrival at the final destination. This lack of focus either results in chaos, accidents or maybe you miss out on something valuable. When we apply this observation to life, it means a person is wandering aimlessly on the course of life.
The vision gives purpose to life. If you don’t have purpose in life you will never know the satisfaction of achieving your goals. Even if you reach your so-called destination you have missed on so much in your life. You have missed on a whole learning process, a thousand experiences and you have missed on the life itself.
If you were driving down the road of life and passed by what you want out of life, what would you do? You can only answer this question when you have a vision for life. Only if you are not blindly headed to a destination but actually want to learn and enjoy the journey that leads to it.
If you didn’t have the vision up till now then it’s never late. Start formulating your vision for how are you going to live the rest of your life. Take a look at how you are living your days. Also, think for the things that you need to do in order to achieve the formulated vision. There’s a famous quote; if you don’t have a vision, you will perish.
To map out the plan, you might need to ask yourself some questions first and think about the answers. Think about what you want to do with your life, what are your strengths, and the things you enjoy the most. Start from now!
