Stress Management Techniques


1.      Recognize stress is good. Instead of the natural fight response, make stress your friend and use that burst of energy when it counts the most.
2.      Avoid stress sneezing. Stressed people sneeze indiscriminately and may infect a lot of people, avoid contact with stressed people or teach them how to manage it to avoid other people getting infected.
3.      Try to learn. Learn from the best, find out among people around you who calms when he loses his head, how he reacts, talk to other people or what language he uses. You can even talk to them and copy what they do.
4.      Practice heavy breathing. Relax your body by practicing heavy breathing by repeatedly breathing in and out, this will slow down your heart rate, dry your sweaty palms and cool you down.
5.      Stop stress thoughts. Give stress thought-train thoughts red light and stop them in their tracks.
6.      Know your hot spots and trigger points. A lot of people crack under pressure and become stress during, interviews, meetings, presentations, tight deadlines and giving difficult feedback. Be specific and make your own list to identify your trigger points and hot spots. Knowing what causes stress is important because it helps you in making your life less stressful.
7.      Take care of your body. Poor diet and lack of sleep are caused by stress and wrecks your body to poor state. Remember to take care of your body even if you’re stressed.
