Fidel Castro


Castro was born in August 13 1926 in a sugar plantation in Biran. His full name is Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz. He studied law at the university of Havana at this is where he developed a passion for politics. Therefore he began his political career and become a world wide political figure in Cuba. In 1953, Fidel Castro led an attack on the Moncada Barracks but failed to achieve his goals. He was captured and tried but later released. Upon his release, he travelled to Mexico where he planned to overthrow the Batista revolution.
This time round, he did not fail on his plan as he managed to overthrow the Batista revolution and he steadily rose to power from the prime minister of Cuba to the first secretary of the communist party of Cuba and later become the president of the council of states and also for minister. He also became the commander in chief.
Fidel Castro married to times. First he was married to Mirta Diaz Balart who died in 1955 then he later married Dalia Soto Del Valle who is still his present wife. Castro fathered a total of nine children.
After suffering from digestive illness and undergoing surgery, Castro transferred his power to his young brother, Raul Castro who later succeeded him on February 24 2008. Castro resigned during the same year and said he would never seek another term as either the president or the commander in chief of Cuba. Today, Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz spends most of his time writing articles based on world affairs.
