Decorating Your Baby’s Room

You have a baby coming in your life soon and the excitement is every where, you are all heated up and one of the thing that is on your “to do list” is decorating the baby’s room. Most of the parents these days know their baby’s gender, so it’s much easier to plan ahead.
First of all, you need to choose a room that is closer or next to your bedroom. Choose a room that is warm and cosy. Paint the walls in warm and soft colours, baby pink, light blue, orange or light violet. Go a head let your imagination go wild about it there are so many different colours and shades.

Choose soft curtains and drapers for the windows or just simple blinds, they are easier to clean. On the floor you might want a soft carpet, but always be careful when choosing the colours. Light colour carpet might look good, but they always get dirty easier and it’s harder to clean. Maybe you can think about flooring that it’s easier to clean for example laminate and than put just a small machine washable rug. Choose light colour furniture that includes a baby bed, a little wardrobe and shelves for the toys and all the teddy bears. After all it is not that difficult to get ideas about decorating your baby’s room.

If possible, in one of the corners put one small couch, there are always lots of family members who would like to be around the baby. Place a nappy changing table, possibly next to the wardrobe so you can have an easy access to the baby’s clothes. Put a cosy chair where you can sit and feed your baby or read a story, throw over the arm rests a nice warm blanket. Decorating your baby’s room can relax your mind when you are anxiously waiting for the big day. You can decorate the walls with applications, your baby will have lots of things to look around and learn later on. Put a lamp with soft light and a light adjuster, so you can make the light dimmer during the night when the baby sleeps. It’s a good idea to put a little CD player so you can play a nice soft music to your baby. Music is always good to calm down your baby or sometimes even you. The expectant mother and father can also find some quality time together, discussing what to buy for their baby and sharing ideas on how to decorate baby’s room.

Don’t stuff the room with too much decorations, there will be loots of toys, teddy bears and framed photos coming later on so leave lots of empty space to be filled up after your baby is born. And the most important thing is: “Enjoy while decorating your baby’s room” that fills it up with good and positive energy and makes a good foundation for the moments to come.
