Like most human inventions and the idea for Facebook comes from nowhere. Facebook is born from a little idea called Facemash – exchange of information and photos between the students in Harvard University. In 2003 the student Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook, which makes him the most discussion and one of the richest people in the world.
Till this moment there wasn’t similar system for exchange of information and photos so 4 hours after the launch of Facemash, the site was visited by over 450 students and there were more than 20 000 photos review. A little bit later, Zuckerberg introduced some changes and renamed Facemash on The Facebook. Initially, this system is used only by students at Harvard University for the sharing of information and photos. Latter The Facebook this new social network was extended to the other universities in America. At that time Dustin Moskovitz (programmer) and Chris Hughs start help to Zuckerberg for The Facebook. In 2004 Pay Pal invested in the project 500 000 dollars. Also in this year The Facebook become just Facebook. In early 2005 was bought the official domain facebook.com - the best investment from 200 000dollars ever. Accel invested in Facebook 12.7 million dollars and Greylock the fabulous 27 500 000 dollars. Soon the new social network involved the employees of some companies such Apple and Microsoft, after some time Facebook become generally accessible. The only competitor of Facebook was the largest social network by then – My Space. In 2006 Yahoo offered 1 billion dollars to buy Facebook from Zuckerberg but he didn’t agree. A year later Microsoft bought 1,6% share in Facebook for 240 million dollars.
