Everyone desires to be happy .With abundance of wealth and all luxuries in life still a person is unhappy then it’s not worth. if happiness were synonymous with all this ,rich people with all their luxuries and countless parties, would always be happy but the fact is they are frequently and acutely unhappy despite their riches and ability to get all types of fun activities at will.
In this connection we are confronted with another fallacy, that fun and pleasure means happiness. Fun is what we experience during an act, happiness is that intangible something we experience after an act. We may have fun watching a movie, eating chocolate, going for shopping, meeting friends, these all are fun activities that gives us fleeting moments of relaxation and enjoyment. Happiness on the other hand, is a much stronger, deeper emotions.
The way to happiness is not as smooth, highway along which we can ride at a comfortable speed. It is a path which can be full of obstacles and the going can be very tough at times. At these times we have to roll up our sleeves and with determination and hard work we make our way onwards. This kind of happiness lasts for long. Great happiness is earned by great efforts and effort not in parts but continuous efforts. Things which bring happiness do not always involve pain but these endeavor such as raising kids, establishing deeper relations with loved ones, helping others, optimism, social intraction,endorphine released through physical exercise, marital status, religious involvement…… hold the world of happiness. Work is the key to happiness as doing something which increases the confidence and self worth. It brings on a feeling of satisfaction, of doing something , of contributing.
A secret ingredient of happiness is contentment. As the true definition of happiness is one likes what he gets.
