Super Bowl got its name from a college football in Pasadena. The game is nowadays played every first Sunday of the month of February but was originally played during the early mid of January. Pete Rozelle is said to be the main man behind the Super Bowl idea and also the merge between AFL and NFL. The winning team of the Super Bowl game gets the Vince Lombard trophy. The trophy got its name after the coach of Green Bay Packers who won the first Super Bowl game.
The venue and location where the game will be played is normally decided by NFL officials three to five years in advance. It is by rule that locations without the NFL franchise can not host the game. Super Bowl games have been held in New Orleans, Miami and even Los Angels. Apparently no team participating in the Super Bowl has ever played in their home ground since the game began.
