The most expensive diamond in the world is a blue one called the diamond of Vitelsbah which weight 35.56 carats. The rare diamond is expensive mostly because of it history. In 1664 the Blue diamond was ordered by the Spanish king Philip IV like a dowry of his daughter Margarita Teresa, who married for the Austrian king Leopold I. After her death, the blue diamond was given to her granddaughter. She married for a member of the Vitelsbah family. The blue diamond was called the Vitelsbah diamond and there was a belief that the dreams of everybody who touch it will become true. When Maximilian IV from the same family became the Bavarian king, he ordered the blue diamond to be incrusted on his crown. After the First World War, Vitelsbah family was forced to sell the diamond. Long time there wasn’t any information for the destiny of this incredible diamond. One day it suddenly appeared in Christie’s. It was sold to Lorans Graff who paid 24.3 million dollars for the diamond Vitelbah. Maybe it will stay in the Graff’s collection forever or at least till he is alive.
