Education reform can be defined as the way an individuals are imparted knowledge. Over the centuries, techniques and method of education kept on changing, to make education more effective and simplified. Changes in education can be made on individual educator basis or on broad basis by changing school curriculum with performance evaluations.
In earlier days people believed that learning is related with individual’s will. For example if a child is not interested in learning, he will never learn. In history education reform took place on local level.
Modern notion of education reform is to ‘spread compulsory education’. In today’s world with the growth of economy and spread of democracy the importance of education has risen. It has become the basic and essential part of today’s society. It is also considered as essential to ensure the access of higher education to children and adults. Modern education reform focuses on the growing understanding of which method is efficient for improving the quality and standard of education and how to improve the quality of teaching and learning in school.
The classical education in western society from 18th to 19th centaury was disordered which gave rise to education reform. In the period the classical education emphasize was made on ancient languages (Greek, Latin) and their culture not on local language and its culture, which made the intellectual class more loyal to ancient culture and institutions  than their native language and their actual government authority.
In today’s world education is just not confined to books but latest technologies are also used like digital computers. Over few years computers are widely used in educational field. With the help of computers learning foreign languages have become easier; its ability to project various physical systems makes it potentially helpful in learning science.
